Beducated Warns Dismantling U.S. Education Department Puts Sex Ed at Risk
(Munich, Germany / April 3, 2025) – As the Trump administration moves forward with plans to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education, Beducated.com, the world’s largest pleasure-based sex education platform, expresses deep concern over the future of comprehensive sex education in the United States.
As the Department of Education faces deep workforce cuts and a full shutdown under executive order, the infrastructure supporting equitable access to education – especially for marginalized communities – is being eroded. Key programs like student loans and special education may be reassigned to other agencies, but there is little clarity on what will happen to sex education, Title IX enforcement and adult learning initiatives.
“Many people fear that the dissolution of the U.S. Department of Education sets a dangerous precedent,” says Mariah Freya, co-founder and CEO of Beducated. “Sex education in the U.S. is already inconsistent, underfunded and often absent altogether. Without a federal framework to protect and prioritize inclusive sex ed, states will be left to fill the gap – and history shows that many won’t.”
Freya warns that the rollback of centralized oversight risks deepening existing inequalities in access to accurate, age-appropriate, and inclusive sex education. Data from Beducated’s own global research supports this concern: nearly 60% of adults report dissatisfaction with their sex lives, while 95% of those surveyed express a desire for better communication in their intimate relationships.
“Comprehensive sex education is not a luxury – it’s foundational to personal health, consent, safety, and well-being,” adds Freya. “Slashing federal support while cloaking it in efficiency rhetoric only reinforces shame, misinformation, and inequity. The real cost will be borne by those who already struggle to access reliable sexual health information.”
Founded in 2018, Beducated.com has spent the past seven years building a platform that centers pleasure, inclusivity, and access – offering over 150 courses across four languages and partnering with more than 70 global experts. The platform’s recent innovations, including its AI Sex Coach, continue to push forward its mission of democratizing sex education in a safe, censorship-free space.
